Everton interested in signing Tariq Lamptey on free transfer

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey on a free transfer at the end of the season, should his contract with Brighton and Hove Albion expire as expected.

According to Africa Foot, Lamptey is eager to leave Brighton, where he has struggled to regain a regular spot in the team after battling injuries in recent years.

The 24-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and while several clubs, including Juventus, are interested, Lamptey prefers to stay in the Premier League.

Brighton and manager Fabian Hürzeler are open to letting the Black Stars defender go as early as January 2025 to avoid losing him for free. Although Brighton has not set a price, Transfermarkt values the full-back at €12m.

Lamptey’s representatives are keen on finding a move that will allow him to regain his form and improve his statistics in the Premier League.

Everton, in need of a long-term solution at right-back, have already made their interest known, and it seems Lamptey is open to a potential move to Goodison Park.
