Ejisu-Juaben MCE Promises Massive Developmental Projects
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti Region, Madam Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi, has indicated her commitment to initiate social intervention projects in the various communities to accelerate the pace of development.
“I am promising you that under my leadership, the face of Ejisu- Juaben Municipality, is going to change. We are going to get out of stagnation and backwardness, and move our municipal and the country at large onto the path of progress and prosperity. “She said.
This ‘new change’, according to Hon. Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi will be “opportunities for all, and where everybody is taken care off. We will have a society that is caring and compassionate and expresses solidarity. Nobody is going to be left behind. We are all going to march together, hands linked together, to that great future that beckons us, here in Ejisu-Juaben Municipality.”
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti Region, Madam Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi said this during media interaction in Ejisu.
She therefore appealed to the people of Ejisu-Juaben Municipality to keep faith with her and the Nana Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government to fulfil their campaign promises.
The MCE outlined a litany of developmental projects initiated under her leadership such as the construction of the construction of a 300 bed girl’s dormitory facility and senior house mistress bungalow at Ejisu Senior High Technical School.
The Ejisu – Juaben MCE has without any forms of reservation, come to the rescue of the educational sector in the municipality.
Some schools that needed some levels of intervention to facilitate proper teaching and learning have had some of their needs met. The MCE has also facilitated construction of a six unit bedroom teachers’ bungalow at Timeabu.
There is also the rehabilitation of a four unit classroom block at Tikrom. Being a strong and resilient advocate for all-inclusive education, Mrs. Derkyi has being instrumental in the facilitation of the school feeding program which began in the municipality, in 2006.
As at the fourth quarter of 2016 academic year, a total number of 10,886 pupils from 34 schools were beneficiaries of the project, but currently 57 schools are captured as beneficiaries of the Program with a total population of 14,366 pupils chart.
Touching on Environmental Management, Hon. Serwaa Derkyi stated that MCE has instituted measures to stopped open defecation and other sanitation menaces; she has supervised the construction of a 12-seater water closet (WC) facility, at Achiase Bomfa.
She is currently constructing a 20- seater water closet (WC) facility at Asotwe as well as a four seater WC at Tikrom J.H.S.
According to her, to acquire proper Health care in the municipality, Mrs. Derkyi has built a maternity unit with laboratory at Kwaso and furnished it with basic medical equipment.
She indicated that Several Road network projects are ongoing in the municipality. “The construction of a bridge at Ejisu Abankro is one of the star projects. Through the effective leadership of the MCE, the area has seen massive renovation of some roads. The roads that have been patched include the Anita Hotel road, Best Point road, Besease road and Ejisu Government Hospital road”.
