Eight-year-old girl found dead in bush

An eight-year-old girl has been killed and her body dumped in a bush in Nyive within the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region.

Police reports say the girl was sent on an errand within the township by her mother, Abalo Serwa, but the girl never returned home.

The failure of the young girl to return in due time prompted the mother to report the matter to the police last Tuesday.

But the Regional Police Command said the mother reported the following day that the body of the young girl was found in some shrubs with bruises on it just when the police had begun their investigations.

The Regional Police PRO, Cpl. Prince Dogbatse, told Citi News that their investigations are connecting the alleged crime to a gentleman who is currently on the run.

“Our investigation has given us enough basis to link a certain suspect to the crime and that suspect is currently on the run and we are pursuing him.”
