EC BOSS SACK: Unjustifiable decision by Prez Akufo Addo

The Ghanaian citizenry has been hit with a great shock from the Presidency informing us that the President of the Republic, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, has with immediate effect, dismissed the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and her two deputies on grounds of misbehavior and incompetence without affording them the opportunity to defend themselves or even read through the sham report from the committee tasked to review the NPP sponsored petition against the EC Commissioners.

Without any hesitation, we treat the President’s decision as childish, undemocratic, unconstitutional, barbaric, feverish, highly immature and a recipe for chaos, lawlessness and a threat to the peace of this Country.

This action by the President is constitutionally unjustifiable and therefore call on him to, as a matter of urgency, rescind his decision to avoid the impending civil unrest in our peaceful country.

The office of the Electoral Commission Chairperson is a very sensitive and an independent one, and so, must be devoid of any partisan interference especially from the Executive Arm of Government and some Political Parties in the Country.

We unequivocally call on the President of the Republic of Ghana to at least maintain the status quo bequeathed to him by the previous Govt so far as peace, security, law and order is concerned if he has nothing positive to offer Ghanaians in that tangent.

For God and Country.
Thank you.
