Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong to speak at Harvard’s Africa Development Conference 2025

Harvard University will host one of Ghana’s most accomplished and inspiring business icons, Ɔdadeɛ Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, as a distinguished speaker at the 16th Annual Africa Development Conference (ADC) on April 11–12, 2025.

The conference, themed “Africa by 2040: The Future of Africa’s Youth,” promises to be a pivotal platform for discourse on Africa’s development, and Dr. Sarpong’s presence marks a proud moment not only for Ghana but also for the global Ɔdadeɛ fraternity.

Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong is a true testament to excellence, impact, and leadership. A proud alumnus of Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon, he has blazed an illustrious trail in business, finance, and entrepreneurship.

Today, he is the Global President of the Ɔdadeɛ Alumni Association, affectionately known as Ɔdadeɛ Global, and also serves as Board Chairman of his alma mater, guiding the next generation of leaders at PRESEC.

From his humble beginnings as a student in the blue magic uniform of PRESEC to becoming a towering figure in Ghana’s economic landscape, Dr. Sarpong’s journey is nothing short of inspirational.

He is the founder of Special Investments Ltd., Special Ice Ltd., and Special Homes Ltd., which have significantly contributed to Ghana’s real estate, water production, and construction sectors.

His entrepreneurial reach extends even further: co-founding Best Point Savings and Loans, U2 Salt Ltd., and United Television (UTV Ltd.), the leading television station in Ghana.

Dr. Sarpong’s leadership style, marked by vision, integrity, and a deep commitment to national development, has earned him accolades both locally and internationally.

He holds an MSc in Finance and Investment Management from Salford University in Manchester, and is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.

As the Global President of Ɔdadeɛ Global, Dr. Sarpong continues to exemplify the true spirit of PRESEC—discipline, excellence, and service.

Under his leadership, the alumni association has expanded its influence, championing initiatives that support educational excellence, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment.

His role as Board Chairman of PRESEC also highlights his commitment to giving back to the institution that helped shape him.
