‘Don’t let our enemies get us’ – McBrown and Empress Gifty bond at Despite’s in-law’s funeral

Two on-screen rivals, Empress Gifty, and Nana Ama McBrown, crossed paths at Dr. Osei Kwame Despite’s in-law’s one-week funeral observation and a number of things ensued.

Given their recent silent social media feud, it was expected that their meeting might be somewhat tense.

One will recall that their conflict began when Empress Gifty launched a new cooking show on UTV, which replaced “McBrown’s Kitchen” following McBrown’s departure to Media General.

Nana Ama McBrown at that time reacted by criticising what she perceived as “copycats” venturing into the ‘cooking show’ field and asserted her dominance in that field.

This led to a series of jabs exchanged between the two.

Also, allegations surfaced that McBrown had repeatedly grabbed Empress Gifty’s opportunities, including claims about the “Onua Showtime” program.

These issues further fuelled the friction between the two and their fans on social media.

However, in spite of the ongoing tension, their encounter at Dr. Osei Kwame Despite’s wife’s mother’s one-week observation was surprisingly cordial.

They were seen interacting and complimenting each other’s looks.

Empress Gifty seized the opportunity to ask when McBrown will promote her new song

Empress asked, “Please, you haven’t recorded a video for my new song yet.”

McBrown replied, “What song?”

Empress Gifty responded, “My new song.”

McBrown assured, “I won’t let our enemies rejoice over us; I’ll record a video for your song, okay?.”

Empress Gifty then said, “Don’t let our enemies get to us, please.”
