Do Niger, Sudan have Michael Essien in their teams? – Kankam Boadu slams Otto Addo as he calls for his sacking

Ace sports journalist Bright Kankam Boadu has demanded the immediate dismissal of Black Stars coach Otto Addo over his statements that the current crop of players in the team cannot be compared to the era of Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, and Sulley Muntari.

Kankam Boadu is unhappy with the statement, noting that Otto Addo merits dismissal for complaining about a problem he was appointed to solve.

He likened the situation to that of Jose Mourinho at Tottenham, arguing that Otto Addo has conceded that he is not fit enough to handle the team.

“Jose Mourinho was sacked by Spurs because of something he said during a post-match conference. If you are a coach and there is something wrong with your team and you claim you can’t find a solution for it, then what are you doing? Why are they paying you? Just clear off.

“Some coaches are fired because of things they say during post-match conferences. Otto Addo is telling us that we can’t compare the current crop of players to the previous ones and that we don’t have Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah, etc.

“Do Niger have a Michael Essien? None of the players in the Nigerien team would start for Ghana. The team has been regressing under Otto Addo. We shouldn’t wait till the World Cup qualifiers; we should sack him now,” he stated.

Otto Addo has come under fire following Ghana’s performance against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars drew at home and lost to Sudan in Libya on October 10 and October 15, respectively.

Following the results, the Black Stars are now left with two points from four matches, with Angola and Sudan in first and second, respectively.
