Divorce Rumours, Attacks: Wode Maya’s wife sets the record straight

Following the backlash from Kenyans fueled by the revelations of her husband, Miss Trudy, Wode Maya’s wife has clarified her earlier statements.

Earlier, after stating in a podcast with Konnected Minds, that her husband no longer wants them to constantly travel together, a decision that left her heartbroken, Miss Trudy’s fans, particularly Kenyans, launched attacks and threats at Wode Maya.

Miss Trudy’s comments about Wode Maya that sparked outrage among her fans were,

“We used to travel together all the time; life was amazing. We did that for many years. Then one day, Maya sat me down and told me that he can’t be travelling with me everywhere. I was shattered; I felt like my heart was broken. I cried and cried.

“I asked him why; I asked whether he didn’t love me anymore. I thought it was me and him against the world. I asked whether I was a burden to him. He has given me direction in life, and I felt like if he is no longer in my life, I’d feel so lost.”

However, noticing that the attacks, unsolicited commentary, and doom predictions about her marriage had intensified, Miss Trudy took to her YouTube channel to set the records straight.

“I have been receiving phone calls from people who have been asking me what is really happening between me and Maya. The truth is that everything happening on the internet has actually caught me by surprise because I did not see it coming. I honestly did not see it coming. I am just in shock.

“I did an interview, and we talked about so many things. I was only trying to be honest about what was happening in my life. He asked me a couple of questions, and I answered truthfully. He asked whether we spend enough time together, and I said no, because that’s the truth. But people took this out of context. He asked how I was doing, and I said I was depressed. We all get depressed, don’t we? I was only trying to portray that my life isn’t perfect.”

She described the level of attacks currently thrown at her husband as intense and has insisted that he is not a terrible person.

“I don’t want my honesty to be the reason why Wode is seen as wicked. Now Maya is being attacked online. He is being attacked, left, right, center, forward. I know you guys care for me a lot, but Maya isn’t an evil person,” she emphasised.

Miss Trudy, who has been married to Wode Maya for a year and a couple of months, has insisted that they are not on the verge of divorce, as people are speculating.

She said things are not as bad as people perceive them to be.
