CPP Gets New National Chair Person

The Central Committee of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has overwhelmingly endorsed and acclaimed Hajia Haruna Hamdatu the 1st Vice chair of the CPP as it Chair and leader.

This move became necessary when the immediate past chairman, Prof Edmund Delle tendered in his resignation letter to become the Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area.

The CPP congratulated Prof Delle on his enskinment as Na Prof Edmund N. Delle Chiir VIII and wished him the best in his new leadership role, adding that he would excel as the leader of his people.

Hajia Hamdatu is one of the longest, loyal and committed members of the CPP.

In 1999 she was voted as one of the representatives of the CPP youth league to vote on their behalf at Legon.

In 2003 she became one of the leading members of the CPP Women’s wing

In 2007 she was elected as the National Women’s organiser of the CPP at KNUST in Kumasi. She’s the first person tp hold that position in the CPP under the 4th Republic

In 2015 she was elected as the First National chair person of the CPP at a National delegate’s congee in Sunyani.

Most of the members of the CPP are very happy about her position and expressed optimism that, the CPP will see a rekindled spirit under her leadership since she brings on board a lot of experience among others.
