Incessant theft of components of earthmoving vehicles of a contractor assigned some roads within the Kumasi Metropolis is to blame for the delay in the completion of the projects

Management Kofi Job Construction Limited have complained bitterly about increasing cases of removal of tipper truck and excavator batteries by thieves on Santasi-Apire road within the Nhyiaeso constituency of the Ashanti Region.

According to them, 3 excavator and tipper truck batteries have been removed by the daring thieves which is one of the reasons they insist is stalling the project

The Santasi-Apire road was awarded to Kofi Job after the residents embarked on a massive demonstration to register their displeasure over the deplorable road network.

This was after the same project had been abandoned several years by another contractor over the nonpayment of raised certificates.

Project Manager of the construction Company, Mr. Akwasi Yeboah speaking on Ambassador Community Project hosted by Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo,  said the activities of thieves is gravely affecting the smooth construction of Santasi-Apire road.

“Sometimes we come to the site and we will realized some batteries have been removed by these daring thieves.  Today the thieves will steal excavator battery, tomorrow they will steal Tipper Truck battery. It is so pathetic that you will come to site and you will realize there is no battery on either excavator or tipper Truck. It is really affecting our work” Mr. Yeboah lamented

The company is therefore demanding the arrest of those behind the removal the stealing in the stalling the project completion.
