The Nkosuohene of Goaso Traditional Council of the Asunafo North Municipality in the Ahafo Region, Nana Yaw Badu Duku Kaakyire revealed this to the media in the early hours of the day.

Nana Yaw Badu has been a Road safety ambassador in Europe for so many years. In his special visit to Ghana, he disclosed to the media that, it is very good for Government to Construct good roads for  the citizens but it is not a complete antidote to road accident. The issue of road accident is a multiplicity of factors which ought to be address each and everyday to find a solution.

Nana Badu Duku postulated firmly that even though, the safest way of travelling is by air but boarding an Aeroplane is like a cadaver in a casket. If you are able to land safely, then you have to praise your maker. He advised all drivers to desist from alcoholic beverages when driving because the lives of passengers and pedestrians will be in a perilous turning pricket when they drink and drive. Unnecessary overtaking on the part of drivers ought not to be tolerated at all. If drivers want to reach their various destinations in safe and early, then, it is very imperative for them to set off on time.

He urged Drivers and Vehicle License Authority (DVLA) to do proper scrutiny before given out driving license. Undoubtedly, DVLA exist to ensure the use of best practices for licensing drivers and vehicles to promote road safety and environmental sustainability, while pursuing integrity, excellence, professionalism and reliability in service delivery. Their core mandate is to promote good driving standards in the country and ensure the use of roadworthy vehicles on the roads and other public places. Goaso Nkosoohene stressed firmly.

He cautioned some passengers who have been shouting on drivers to speed up on the road. It is better to be late than to be called the late. He concluded by addressing Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority’s key stakeholders like the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service; Transport Associations; National Road Safety Commission; Ghana National Association of Driving Schools (Ghana Drive); National Insurance Commission; Ghana Automobile Distribution Association; Government Technical Training Centre; National Drivers Academy, the Judiciary and the Motoring Public to intensify the Road Safety Campaign for mother Ghana.
