Confusion in HeFRA as  CEO runs one man show

Published

on

The Registrar of the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency, Dr. Phillip Yaw Ababio Bannor has assumed a thin God like CEO of the Agency as he defies his board and went on transfer spree some staff he does not like or have them in his good books to create way to continue to fill the agency with family and friends.
Dr. Bannor was appointed by the president Nana ADDO Dankwah Akufo-Addo in 2019 after the exit of Mr. Matthew Kyeremeh, the then Acting Registrar that turned around the agency with his organizational and corporate skills that saw the agency come alive to now be able to execute its mandate of Registering, Licensing and Monitoring of all Health Facilities in Ghana both Public and private.
Dr. Bannor since his assumption of office has employed more than 15 of his direct family members and made some of them heads of departments without any experience and or requisite qualification and has always sought to remove Heads of Units and departments that his predecessor, Mr. Matthew Kyeremeh appointed.
In addition, As of today before going to press, Dr. Bannor is seeking to remove ALL the regional heads of the agency to make way for his own family members and friends. He is doing this removal of the regional heads hiding under the banner of the public sector employment clause that says that you can be transferred to any part of Ghana at any time during your employment as a public servant.
Furthermore, This published is clothed with evidence of the alleged wrong doings of Dr. Philip Yaw Bannor and some dubious contracts he has signed on behalf of the agency disregarding the advice and warning of the previous Board. It is estimated that Ghana has more than 35,000 health Facilities dotted around the country and this man has tired the hands of all these health facilities to a company called Vetibra who collects GHC100 Ghana Cedis from all these facilities every year provided any of them make a click to a platform called HeFRA MOIS.
It is strongly suspected that this GHC100 that is totaling GHC3.5million per annum may have a sharing coefficient with Dr. Bannor
