Government to implement ‘Feed the Industry’ program to boost agro-industrial zones

The government is set to roll out its flagship ‘Feed the Industry’ program in the coming days, aimed at supporting and strengthening agro-industrial zones across the country.
Designed to promote large-scale cultivation of grains, oilseeds, and meat, the initiative seeks to enhance sustainable agricultural practices and drive industrial growth.
Speaking at the 2nd Kwahu Business Forum on April 19, 2025, the Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, highlighted Afram Plains Agro-Industrial Zone as a key component of the program.
She urged investors and the business community to seize the opportunity and channel investments into the zone to help unlock its full potential.
“A key initiative under this programme is the development of the Afam Plains Agro-Industrial Zone with a focus on cassava, maize, and soya bean value chain. We appeal to our revered traditional leaders to support this effort through land availability and encourage the business community to invest in agro-processing,” she said.
