Dr. Bawumia, who’s the incumbent Vice President, challenged John Mahama to engage in a direct debate instead of hiding behind “flimsy questions.”
This call is a reply to Mahama’s five- questions posed to Dr. Bawumia, similar to the 170 questions the latter posed to then-Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur during the 2016 electioneering campaign.
Dr. Bawumia, in his response, invited former president Mahama for an open debate, saying, “I would have thought he would be man enough to face me in a one-on-one debate for the Ghanaian public to assess our respective policies, achievements, and visions. He should not hide behind these flimsy questions to avoid a debate.”
In addition, Dr. Bawumia offered his own list of fifty questions concerning Mr. Mahama’s record on infrastructure, social intervention policies, and the economy, saying that Mahama’s questions were insufficient for the more important issues he was ready to discuss.
“Come for a debate, and I can ask the moderators to ask me these five flimsy questions,” he urged John Mahama in a post on social media platform X.

I have just read questions posed to me by former President Mahama. I would have thought he would be man enough to face me in a one-on-one debate for the Ghanaian public to assess our respective policies, achievements, and visions.
