Collapsed galamsey pit KILLS Papa Kumasi and 2 others at Manso Assamang

Three (3) persons have killed after an illegal mining pit collapsed on them at Manso Assamang, a farming community at Manso Nkwanta in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

The deceased persons were identified as Kwadwo Asiamah 39-year-old , native of Manso Assamang, Kwabena popularly known as Papa Kumasi also 25-year-old native of Manso Assamang and Ayomah Agbon 22 years.

Amansie West National Disaster Management Organization  (NADMO) Director in charge of Operations, Joseph Appiah Kubi who confirmed the sad incident to Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo said 2 other persons sustained serious injuries after the pit collapsed.

According to Joseph Appiah Kubi, it took the intervention of NADMO officials and residents from Manso Assamang community to retrieve the bodies from the collapsed pit.

He disclosed that bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Agroyesum government Hospital Morgue while the injured persons receiving treatment at  the St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital at Agroyesum.
