‘Chelsea completely disrespected me’ — Osimhen breaks silence on failed Stamford Bridge move

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has lifted the lid on his failed transfer to Premier League giants Chelsea this summer.

In an exclusive chat with Arise TV sports broadcaster, Aaron Akerejola, the 25-year-old shared some insights on the controversies surrounding his move away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

According to Osimhen, Chelsea were in negotiations with Napoli for his transfer as far back as August 1 without engaging him in the talks.

The Super Eagles striker revealed that the Blues decided to capitalize on his failed move to Al Ahli after Napoli changed their initial demands for his transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

Knowing that he might be very desperate after the Saudi deal went off, Osimhen disclosed that Chelsea finally reached out to him through co-owner Hansjorg Wyss and offered him a gross salary of £130, 000 per week.

He added that the club wanted to coerce him through Napoli by claiming he demanded £500, 000 a week after he rejected the initial £130, 000 per week offer.

In the aftermath, the reigning African Footballer of the Year secured a season-long loan move to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Turkish champions reached an agreement with Napoli to cover the entirety of Osimhen’s wages throughout his loan spell.
