VIDEO: Cheddar’s Bodyguard Captured on Video Assaulting Man at Mampong Funeral

A bodyguard of Ghanaian businessman and 2024 presidential aspirant, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, has come under public scrutiny after being captured on video assaulting a man during a funeral in Mampong, in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred during the final burial rites of the late Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the Mamponghene and Krontihene of Asanteman, which were held from June 6 to June 9, 2025, in Asante Mampong.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Cheddar is seen arriving at a private residence with his entourage. As he approached the entrance, a man—believed to be one of the mourners—was standing near the gate, reportedly in a zone restricted from public access.
Without warning, one of Cheddar’s bodyguards approached the man, grabbed him by the neck, and unleashed multiple punches to his face and upper body. The man was visibly overwhelmed and fell to the ground. The bodyguard, without offering any explanation, left the scene and rejoined Cheddar’s team as they proceeded inside.
It remains unclear what led to the violent confrontation. There has been no official comment yet from Cheddar’s campaign team or security personnel regarding the incident.
Cheddar, founder of The New Force political movement, was among several dignitaries who attended the funeral to pay their respects to the late traditional leader. The funeral, a significant event on the Asanteman traditional calendar, drew high-profile guests from across the country.
The video has since sparked public outcry on social media, with many condemning the use of force and calling for accountability from Cheddar’s team.
Local authorities have not confirmed whether an investigation into the assault is underway.
