A trending photo from the ongoing nationwide protest, tagged “End Bad Governance” has been hailed as the photo of the year for 2024.

The widely circulated photo captures a moment in Jos where Christian protesters protect their Muslim counterparts during their prayers.

Nigeria, with a population of over 229 million, 371 tribes, and 36 states, is often seen as a nation divided by bigotry, propaganda, and religion.

However, during the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest that began on August 1, 2024, in the north-central state of Jos, Christians and Muslims demonstrated remarkable solidarity.

In the midst of the protest, Christian protesters shielded their Muslim counterparts as they prayed on the road, showcasing unity and togetherness.
