Here are the ten most visited tourist sites in Ghana

The Ghana Tourism Authority has unveiled its 2023 report, highlighting the country’s most frequently visited tourist destinations.

As a favored destination for international travelers, Ghana has seen a steady influx of visitors over the years.

According to the report, a total of 1,157,632 tourists explored several popular sites across the country.

Topping the list was the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, which, despite only reopening in July 2023 after renovations, attracted 208,577 visitors.

In second place, the National Museum welcomed 166,884 guests.

Kakum National Park, situated in Ghana’s Central Region, was not far behind with 159,271 visitors, securing the third spot.

The Kumasi Zoo also saw a significant number of visitors, with 142,518 people visiting, making it the fourth most popular site.

The Cape Coast Castle claimed the fifth position with 101,134 visitors.

Ranking sixth, the Aburi Botanical Gardens received 93,719 visits, while Elmina Castle, in seventh place, had 78,870 visitors.

The eco-tourism destination Bunso Arboretum was the eighth most visited with 78,203 tourists, followed by the Accra Zoo in ninth place with 71,137 visits.

Lastly, the Manhyia Palace Museum rounded out the top ten with 57,319 visitors.

The rise in numbers according to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is a result of continuous innovation.
