Celebrities, netizens react as Victoria Hamah makes appearance online after long hiatus

Ghanaian politician Victoria Hamah was spotted at NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s governance forum, a development that has since sparked massive online reactions.

In a viral video, the former Deputy Minister for Communications under the erstwhile Mahama administration shocked netizens, who were thrilled to see her after a long absence at public events and online.

Scores of individuals, including celebrities, commented on what they termed as her ‘comeback,’ recalling how she was unjustly sacked for saying she wouldn’t quit politics until she made one million dollars.

Comparisons were drawn with appointees from the current administration, particularly regarding Cecilia Dapaah, who was found to have a staggering US$1 million stored at home.

Commenters, while recalling these instances noted that Victoria Hamah had not been treated fairly.

Others also expressed concern over her return, stating it could indicate that the NDC plans to pursue a ‘wealth-grabbing agenda’ if they regain power.

Also, netizens commented on her curvy physique, as Victoria, wearing a long flowing dress that accentuated her waistline, drew attention to her massive figure.

The Victoria Hamah incident in 2013

Victoria Hamah was caught on tape in November 2013 allegedly saying that she plans to retire from active politics after creating a $ 1 million fortune.

In the said leak tape, Victoria Hamah was heard making disparaging remarks about another person rumoured to be Rachel Appoh, a Deputy Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection then.

“I will not quit politics until I make one million dollars.”

She was also heard criticising another deputy minister, calling her “senseless, ugly, loud and egoistic”.

She was subsequently fired by the government though no official reason was given for her dismissal, the general belief was that it was due to the content of the leaked tape.
