Police officer dies after tree fell on him at Mpasaaso

A Police Officer, identified as Officer Tony has died after a tree fell on him in a bush at Mpasaaso No.2 in the Ahafo Ano South West of the Ashanti Region.

Narrating the sad incident on Omanbapa morning show on Silver FM in Kumasi hosted by Nana Kwabena Ampratwum today, August 15, 2022, Monday, Hon. Charles K. Asare, assembly member of the area said, the police officer, now decease, was accompanied by some town folks into the bush to halt the activities of some illegal chainsaw operators.

Unfortunately, the tree the operators were cutting mistakenly changed position, falling on the officer, Charles K. Asare disclosed on the show monitored by Filasconews.com.

He was rushed to the Tepa Government Hospital for treatment but died upon arrival.

His body has been kept in the Hospital’s morgue for autopsy and preservation.

Meanwhile, it was alleged that, the officer was also part of those cutting trees illegally in the area but luck eluded his yesterday as he met his untimely demise.
