Mass Defection Hits APGA as Members Flock to NRM in Abia

In a shocking move, thousands of stakeholders and supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia state have announced their decision to dump the party for the National Rescue Mission (NRM). This massive defection is attributed to the lack of internal democracy and cohesion within APGA, which has led to a deviation from the party’s founding ideologies ¹.

According to Mazi Chinedu Emeruwa and Comrade Nzomuche Chiamaka, spokesmen for the Abia APGA members, the party has been hijacked by individuals who have traded its values for personal gains. They expressed regret over the exit of former APGA national chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, and criticized the current Ezeokenwa-led leadership for neglecting basic democratic principles.

The stakeholders believe that the National Rescue Mission (NRM) offers a better alternative, as it is rooted in internal democracy and has a track record of promoting good governance. They praised the leadership of Chief Edozie Njoku, who has demonstrated a commitment to democratic values and has been a vocal advocate for true democracy in Nigeria.

*Key Reasons for Defection:*

– _Lack of internal democracy and cohesion within APGA_
– _Deviation from APGA’s founding ideologies_

The defection of thousands of APGA members to NRM is a significant development in Abia state’s political landscape. As the stakeholders settle into their new party, they are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the state’s political future.
