My landlady doubled my rent after seeing me on TV with Shatta Wale – Captan

An ex-militant of the Shatta Movement, Captan, revealed that his landlady significantly increased his rent after she saw him on TV with Shatta Wale.

In an interview on Kingdom FM, Captan shared his fears about fame that arose when he started working with Shatta Wale.

He recounted how his rent went up from GH¢700 to GH¢1,300 after the landlady recognised him on television.

He stated, “After Shatta Wale and I recorded the hit song ‘Taking Over,’ I became scared. The fame was changing everything around me. I woke up to find my rent had increased to GH¢1300.”

According to him, his landlady told him she had seen him on TV and considered him a superstar, considering the luxury cars that dropped him off.

Additionally, he mentioned that many people in his neighbourhood began sending him letters requesting financial assistance for their children, which further added to his anxiety.

“This got me scared,” he revealed.
