NJUASCO 93-year group rescues alma mater with portable water supply

The 1993 Advanced level (A-Level) year group of the New Juaben secondary commercial school have gone to the rescue of their alma mater to provide students with a water portable water system, a move hailed as a great relief to their juniors.

This has improved the water situation for both the students and staff of the school.

The water system will save students from walking to surrounding communities to fetch a bucket full of water.

Water supply to the school had become so erratic.

As part of efforts to make water available to the school, members of the 1993 year group were then asked to contribute towards the project.

Mr. Michael Alabi, a former house secretary and one of the leaders inaugurating the water project said the gesture is in return of the impact the school has made in their lives.

“We are motivated by the fact that we passed through this school and we have all become responsible people in society, during our time we had Mr.Boniface as our headmaster who instilled discipline in us and that has helped us a lot in our life so we saw the need to give back to the school that made us who we are today ” he stated.

The headmaster of the school, Frank Obeng Wilson appreciated the gesture made by the past students of the school.

He said the donation is coming as a relief in the face of increased students population and associated challenges following the free SHS implementation.

“As usual government alone cannot do everything so when such interventions come and that of the parents it will complement government’s efforts at making our schools a better one” he noted.

The headmaster’s appealed to past students of the school to emulate the contributions of the 1993 year group.
