20-year-old motor rider dies in fatal accident at Assin Fosu

One person has been reported dead following a fatal road accident at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

The deceased, identified as Mark Agbey, a 20-year-old, is reported to have been trying to overtake a taxi when he was knocked down by a V8 vehicle, killing him instantly on Wednesday, July 31.

According to an eyewitness account on Adom FM, the V8 vehicle with the registration number GE 145-23 was headed towards Kumasi from the Assin Fosu Station when the motor rider, attempting to swerve a taxi making a U-turn, crossed him.

Unaware of the motor rider’s presence, the V8 collided with the deceased and another occupant of the motorcycle.

The other victim, identified as Augustine Effah, has been rushed to the hospital for treatment after sustaining severe injuries.

Meanwhile, the police have apprehended the driver of the V8 vehicle to assist in investigations.
