The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will announce its verdict on the botched AFCON qualifier between Libya and Nigeria on Tuesday, October 22.
The Disciplinary Committee of CAF is expected to meet in Addis Ababa to deliberate on the matter, which has garnered widespread condemnation from the football world.
The Super Eagles contingent was left stranded at Al Abraq Airport for over 16 hours after touching down in Libya for the return encounter of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The Libya FA failed to meet with the team or make any arrangements to transport them to their hotel, prompting a boycott from the Super Eagles.
The team later returned home to Nigeria as CAF delisted the fixture from its official website.
According to experts, Libya could face significant sanctions for breaching fair play regulations.
It remains to be seen if Libya will be fined or if the match will be replayed at a neutral venue.
