CAF CONFEDERATION: Kotoko leave for Kenya

Players and officials of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, led by the club’s chief executive, George Amoako, have left Accra on Tuesday afternoon for Ethiopia en route to Kenya for their CAF Confederation Cup match against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday.

Kotoko left their Hills Palace Hotel camp near Aburi on Tuesday all dressed up and headed straight to the Kotoka International Airport to go through departure formalities.

Coach Charles Akonnor and his team had pitched camp at Aburi where the weather conditions was similar to the climate in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

At the airport to wish the team well was Kotoko’s executive chairman, Kwame Kyei.

The Porcupine Warriors will spend the night in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa before flying to Nairobi on Wednesday morning ahead of the match at the Moi International Stadium at Kasarani, Nairobi.

The 18 players who made the trip were goalkeepers Felix Annan and Muntari Tagoe, defenders Amos Frimpong (captain), Augustine Sefa, Evans Owusu, Agyemann Badu, Abdul Ganiyu and Wahab Adams, midfielders Richard Senanu, Umar Basiru, Nii Adjei, Jordan Opoku, Maxwell Baako, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Martin Antwi

The rest are forwards Frederick Boateng, Naby Keita and Songne Yacouba.
