C/R: 15 seriously injured in accident at Gomoa Nyamebekyere

At least 15 passengers are seriously injured in an accident at Gomoa Nyamebekyere, near Gomoa Dominase Onion market on the Kasoa – Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.

The crash which happened on Friday 10 2023 around 11:45 PM involved a Ford passenger vehicle and a Tipper truck.

 

 

Preliminary investigations by Winneba Municipal Fire service indicates that, the Ford vehicle from Takoradi to Accra with the registration number GE 7270-17 made a wrongful overtaking and collided head-on with the incoming tipper car.

The impact of the crash resulted in several passengers sustaining injuries and were rushed to Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital for treatment.

In an interview with Ghone News Yaw Boagyan, Officer in-charge of the rescue team from Winneba Municipal Fire service station, ADO2 Jude Oppong Manu disclosed that the driver of the Ford got stuck in his vehicle for an hour due to the impact of the crash but managed to rescue him.
