Bring evidence to prove the guilt of 3 Hawks – Lawyer dares deceased family

The Counsel of the three members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vigilante group ‘The Hawks’ Lawyer Evans Amankwah has charged the family of the deceased to produce evidence to court if they still insist his clients are guilty and stop the needless attacks.

Abdul Wasihu Iddrisu, was shot dead on February 18, 2019 following an attack at the Ashanti Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) after two youth groups reportedly clashed

The Ashanti Regional Police Command subsequently declared 13 persons wanted over the shooting including one Sani Mohammed alias Commando, Wayo, Element, Jah Rule, as well as Petit, Akon, Fayiz, Mallam, Rock, Hussein Barri alias ‘Warrior’, Midjima, Damos and Abu Taliban.

Three of the wanted suspects, Wayo, Rock and Petit voluntarily surrendered to police according to the Ashanti Regional Police PRO Godwin Ahianyo but were granted bail last Tuesday by a Kumasi High Court.

Prior to being granted bail, family members of the deceased stormed court several times to attack the suspects including their lawyer insisting they are the masterminds of the attack.

But Lawyer Evans Amankwah who was speaking to Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo after his clients were granted bail by Kumasi High Court 4, urged the family of the deceased not to take the law into their own hands.

According to him, though his clients have been granted bail but the court had not set them free.

“I thank God for the ruling. At long last my clients are going home after two months and some weeks in remand. God has listened to my prayers. I am appealing to the deceased family not to take the law into their own hands. If they have evidence that my clients are guilty, they should provide it to the court” he challenged.
