BREAKING NEWS: Rivers State University Professor murdered

One Professor E.N Amadi of the Department of Microbiology, Rivers State University, has been murdered by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.

The unknown gunmen were said to have stormed Professor Amadi’s residential apartment around Trans-Kalabari, Rumuolumeni Community in Obio-Akpor Local Government of Rivers State and hacked him to death.

A family source said the University Professor was attacked by familiar persons.

When contacted, Spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the killing of the Professor.

Omoni, who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said preliminary investigation revealed that the Professor was hit by the gunmen after he identified one of them.

According to him, “The sad incident happened on Wednesday when some armed robbers attacked Professor Amadi. We discovered that he was able identify one of them. So they came back and hit him with a gun booth on his head. He fainted and by the time they got to the hospital, he had died.

“The Commissioner of Police has been briefed on the incident and has ordered an investigation.
