BREAKING NEWS: Queen mother commits suicide at cemetery

Residents of Asuano in the Wenchi Traditional Area in the Bono region were thrown in a complete state of shock as they found their queen mother allegedly commited suicide by hanging at a cemetery.

The lifeless body of Nana Somfowaa Durowaa III was found hanged on a tree at the Droboso cemetery earlier on Today (Tuesday morning 26th March) after she disappeared last night. The actual cause of suicide is not known yet but the police say they are not ruling out a foul play.

Chiefs and opinion leaders in the Wenchi performed rituals at the scene before the body was taken away.
Residents have described the incident as a bad omen, adding the death is unfortunate. Some also believe that someone might have killed and then hanged the Late Obaahemaa at the cemetry.

Police from the Homicide Unit at the Wenchi Police Command have conveyed the body of the deceased to a morgue nearby for autopsy.

An emergency council meeting has since been conveyed over the issue by the Wenchi Traditional council to dwell into the cause of the Obaahemaa’s sad demise.
