BREAKING NEWS: Over 2000 workers of Consolidated Bank fired

Over 2000 workers of Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited have been relieved of their duties, Mynewsghana.com has established

Our News Platform understands that the affected employees include both permanent and temporary staff.

The decision to part ways with the workers was reached after the management of the bank carried out a re-employment exercise.

Shedding light on the decision, the managing director of the bank, Daniel Addo, disclosed that the bank inherited a huge number of workers.

Per a report by Citinewsroom.com, he added that because the bank was overstaffed, a re-employment exercise was carried out as soon as the bank was formed.

He, however, gave the assurance that some of the affected workers could be employed when the bank gains ground.

The Consolidated Bank was formed in 2018 after the Bank of Ghana merged the operations of five struggling banks.

The affected banks were the Beige Bank, Royal Bank, Sovereign Bank, Construction Bank and Unibank Ghana Limited.
