Bono Region: Poilce accidentally shoots colleague to death

The Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) of the Bono Regional Police Command has confirmed the death of Corporal Rexford Amoako after he was shot by another police personnel during patrol operations.

Speaking to My News Ghana, The Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong,  said that the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) was deployed to Sunyani to embark on patrol operations in Dormaa on Monday, 10th August 2020.

During the operations shots fired by a member of the patrol team in the Diabaa Forest in the Dormaa West District accidentally hit Corporal Rexford Amoako which killed him.

He however added that investigations into the incident have began and the media will be fed with all information about the issue when investigations are completed.

He said, “We have begun further investigations into the case to get to the bottom of it. All information will be communicated through the media when investigations are completed.”
