BoG maintains policy rate at 17%
The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Ghana has maintained the policy rate – the rate at which it lends to commercial banks – at 17%.
This means the rate has remained unchanged for the third consecutive time this year.
Governor of the Bank of Ghana and Chairman of the MPC, Dr. Ernest Addison, told journalists in Accra on Monday, 24 September that threats of economic growth and inflation were taken into consideration in maintaining the policy rate.
In July when the Bog maintained the rate, it attributed it to happenings on the international and domestic front.
