Barack Obama breaks silence on Kamala Harris’ defeat

Former President Barack Obama has publicly addressed the recent election results, congratulating President Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance on their victory while expressing disappointment over the loss of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.

Obama acknowledged the outcome was not what he and others had hoped for, but is committed to respecting democracy and accepting the peaceful transfer of power.

Reflecting on the efforts of Harris and Walz, Obama praised their dedication and the hard work of campaign staff and volunteers who “poured their heart and soul” into the race.

Despite the defeat, he lauded Harris and Walz as extraordinary public servants who led an inspiring campaign, setting an example of resilience and public service.

Obama went on to address the challenges that have affected Americans in recent years, citing the pandemic, inflation, and a sense of economic stagnation as issues that created obstacles for democratic incumbents.

He noted that these issues are solvable, but stressed the need for cooperation, mutual respect, and adherence to democratic norms to overcome them.

In his closing remarks, Obama urged Americans to engage in good faith and to listen to one another, despite deep political divides.

He emphasized that progress depends on unity and the shared commitment to building a fairer, more equal society, and he expressed hope for a future where all citizens can work together for a more just America.
