Baba Yara shooting victim to get an artificial eye – NCC Chairman

National Circles Council Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Christopher Damenya has hinted that the Kotoko fan who was shot by the police in the eye will be operated with an artificial eye.

Oppong was standing close to a group of agitated fans, with his hands folded on his chest, when a Police officer shot him with a rubber bullet at close range.

The Kumasi-based commercial driver suffered four pellets of the bullet in his head and has lost his right eye aside suffering facial injuries.

“We are looking forward get an artificial eye for Augustine Oppong who lost his left eye during Kotoko game against Brekum Chelsea. He will undergo a surgery and get his eye secured in a good shape. We are taking all the costs of it,”

“What is so disheartening is that we haven’t seen the policeman who caused the damage up till now”Damenya told Light FM in Kumasi.
