Baba Iddrisu is second most valued Ghanaian player in Europe

Real Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu has a staggering €45 million release clause in his contract to make him the second most valued Ghanaian player in Europe behind Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

The 24-year-old, who was denied a chance to sign for Spanish giants Real Madrid last year, has signed a fresh contract with the club until 2024.

Mallorca have set the monstrous figure to ward off interest from clubs who are keen to sign the talented Ghana international.

Baba’s buyout clause is second to Partey’s €50m release clause at Atletico Madrid.

The decision to increase Baba’s release is aimed at helping to fend off any unwanted interest from afar, as those planning transfer raids are forced to look elsewhere.

Iddrisu looks more likely to sign for Atletico Madrid as a potential replacement for compatriot Thomas Partey, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.

It would be easier for Atletico to reach an agreement with Mallorca than Madrid or any other team in the current scheme of things.
