Founder and leader for All People’s Congress (APC) Dr. Hassan Ayariga has underscored President Akuffo Addo’s call for the disbandment of party militia groups as highly immaterial.
He has again stated that the President’s call for a dialogue between the leadership of NPP and NDC to share their recommendations on the dissolution of vigilante groups is bias centered since other political parties were not invited to share their thoughts.
In a soft tone but a strongly worded statement, outspoken Ayariga uttered without mincing words that the two political parties invited to enter into a dialogue is a dramatic portrait of two thieves invited to deicide on how to fight theft.
Speaking in an exclusive chart with this journalist, the leader of APC underlined that President’s directive lacks prudence and defeats the purpose of the motive.
Per his recommendations, President Akuffo Addo should consider tightening the grips of laws against perpetrators of crime before considering phasing out issues related to vigilantism and the formation of party militia.
President Akuffo Addo he challenged should be proactive in the first place and implement measures that will drastically reduce the rate of crime in the country.
Dr. Ayariga holds the view that disbanding vigilantism is not a solution to ending issues related to vigilantism. He believes that anyone who breaks the laws of the country should be punished to serve as deterrent to others.
