‘I have lost my everything, till we meet again’ – Watch John Kumah’s wife’s full tribute

Apostle Lilian Kumah, widow of the late John Kumah, Member of Parliament for Ejisu, braved tears and sorrow to read a tribute to the former Deputy Minister of Finance.

Her nine-minute tribute started with worship songs from the podium where she stood surrounded by about a dozen people.

“We shall meet again in Jerusalem for indeed it is a pure land. I know one day we will meet again in the pure land where there is no hatred, rancour, anger or spite, we shall meet where our love will united with that of God.

“For some, it is a big politician, others have lost a top civil servant and for many others, their benefactor is gone. But for me, I have lost my everything. You were my everything.

“My number one fan, my lover, my motivator, my teacher and even in my spiritual journey, my Spiritual Father,” she stated recounting how she met John Kumah when she met him after coming to Accra to seek greener pastures having failed Senior High School exams.

The body of the late Kumah arrived in Kumasi aboard a Ghana Armed Forces helicopter on Friday, May 17, 2024 marking the beginning of a solemn day of mourning for the late public servant.

In an emotional scene captured in a video shared on YouTube, family, friends, and constituents were seen and heard shedding tears as the late MP’s body was moved from the helicopter to a hearse.

Kumah died at the Suhum Government Hospital at the age of 45 on March 7.

He was being transported to Accra for further medical attention when his condition worsened, necessitating a stopover in Suhum.

Initially, he was slated to be flown to Germany for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

The late MP is survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and their six children.
