OOU students stabs roommate over noise disturbance

The Ogun State Police has arrested a 25-year-old 500-level Business Education undergraduate, Koya Ayodeji, at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, for allegedly stabbing his roommate Ayobami Ajayi, a 21-year-old 300-level student of Mass Communication.

Ayodeji was said to have stabbed Ajayi in the lower abdomen during a minor argument over noise disturbances in their room on January 21, 2025.

According to Ayodeji, he had cautioned the victim to reduce his noise, but he refused. This led to a heated argument, and in the process, Ayodeji was overcome by anger, causing him to stab Ajayi in the stomach.

Police claimed that their investigations showed that Ayodeji was under the influence of hard drugs. He was arrested and taken to the hospital for toxicology screening by a medical examiner.

The victim was also rushed to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu for medical treatment and is said to be in stable condition.
