Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Ken Agyapong has given his assessment of the Akufo-Addo-led administration.

January 7, 2019 marked exactly two years of the president’s ascension to the presidential throne of Ghana.

Speaking on Adom TV’s morning show “Badwam” on Tuesday, the maverick politician said he believed the president had so far done a fantastic job at managing the country.

Mr Agyapong said the economy had collapsed and deteriorated beyond description prior to the 2016 elections.

According to him, the John Mahana-led government recorded the lowest growth rate in 2 years, adding that the cedi had become the standard reference for a badly managed currency globally.

“When we took over power, the mess these NDC guys had taken us through was bad; even when we thought they had managed the economy well, we realized that they had really done the nation a disservice” he said.

Mr Agyapong said in the last two years, the President and his team have worked so hard to fulfil many of the promises they made to Ghanaians, adding that the economy under Akufo-Addo has witnessed significant growth in all sectors.

The NPP MP noted that his government has shown commitment to tackling the problem of graduate unemployment, a situation he noted had opened the number of public sector recruitments and new employment intervention.

Mr Kennedy Agyapong, therefore, urged Ghanaians to praise the NPP government for stabilizing the economy.
