A middle-aged man has allegedly beaten his girlfriend to death after he reportedly took tramadol.
According to reports, he had a misunderstanding with his 16-year-old Junior High School (JHS) lover and with the assistance of a friend beat her to death.
This unfortunate incident happened at Ananekrom in the Elembele district of the Western Region over the weekend.
Assemblyman of New Adiembra Electoral Area, Micheal Ayaaba who confirmed this to Adom news said the cause of the understanding between the lovers is still unknown.
Mr. Ayaaba said the young girl who suffered several injured died on the spot and the suspects escaped from the scene after the act.
He however, alerted the police about the incident leading to the arrest of the suspects.
Meanwhile a resident, Moses Addae in an interview on Adom News said this is not the first the suspects who are always high on tramadol have perpetrated such crime.
He indicated that, the two junkies have been terrorizing residents any time they are high – noting that even his brother has been a victim.
Moses Addae said because they are in a village, they always go scot-free but appealed to the police to ensure they face the full rigorous of the law.
