[Audio]: Akoto speaks about ordeal after Delta Force attack

The member of parliament for Tafo-Pankrono in the Ashanti Region, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei has spoken on the attack he suffered in the hands of pro-New Patriotic Party vigilante group, Delta Force.

According to the Monitoring and Evaluation Minister, the attacks were masterminded by some persons he has refused to name, until not for now.

His suspicion of a mastermind stems from the fact that he has no problems with the group and as such, doubts if they would attack him out of their own volition.

The young men who have since given the reason for their action said they MP has failed to deliver of promises he made to them prior to their party coming to power.

The young men who rode on motorbikes for their attack destroyed chairs arranged for a meeting while the minister took to his heels.

Dr Akoto Osei said he was about to swear in two constituency committees at the constituency when the men stormed the venue.

He, however, denied reports of making promises to the group.

We were about to begin a meeting of polling station constituency executives, we were about to swear in two committees and then I heard a melee and then people scattered and I decided that I won’t stay around.

I told to the MCE that I was going home. I spoke to the MCE and he told me he was at the police station doing what was necessary as the chairman of the Municipal Security Council.

“I cannot say they were coming to attack me because I don’t have any personal quarrel with them but they disrupted the meeting and that is very clear. I believe some people were behind this attack because I have no issues with these men,” he said on Accra based Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
