‘At long last’ – Watch the reaction of some police officers after Dampare’s removal as IGP

The removal of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has sparked mixed reactions among the general public and within the Ghana Police Service itself.

A viral video, sighted by GhanaWeb, captures a moment of jubilation among some police officers at what appears to be the Police Headquarters in Accra.

In the video, the officers can be seen shouting, jumping, and hugging each other in celebration.

Police sirens can also be heard blaring in the background.

One officer, who was recording the video, can be heard saying, “At long last.”

Describing the scene, he adds, “The joy is all over, the joy is everywhere.”

“We are going to work. Right now, security is in our hands. This is what we have yearned and prayed for. We thank God… President John Mahama, God bless you. You have really listened to our prayers,” he exclaimed.
