Manager for No Business as Usual (NBU) Project Mr. Daniel Okity Boamah has charged assembly members of Asokore Mampong Municipality to ensure effective utilization of all resources allocated to them for the development of their electoral areas.
Proper accounts on projects executed and resources entrusted to their care he underlined must be made to their electorates as a way of building trust and the level of social accountability.
His call was premised on the reality that issues related to social accountability has been at the lowest strata of the administration of most duty bearers in the country especially at the grassroot level.
A number of community members in several parts of the country he indicated are ignorant of the details of most of the projects executed in their area owing to the reason that some elected assembly members fail to brief them on the planning and the budgetary processes and other components that entail projects in the area.
He continued that some assembly members even fail to brief electorates on meetings held at the assembly.
Lack of accountability, transparency and effective communication he said has offered a platform for the propagation of acts of corruption among most local government representatives hence their (NBU Project executives) determination to push for social accountability at all levels.
He announced that all needed efforts and initiatives are already set in motion to ensure that the level of social accountability within Asokore Mampong is heightened within the time frame of the NBU Project.

Per the status quo, the level of social accountability within the municipality he announced has witnessed an impressive posture under the leadership of the MCE Hon Alidu Seidu.
This he defended is noticed in the assembly’s frequent engagement with electorates.
Mr. Daniel.Okity Boamah revealed that last year alone, the assembly held not less than eight  town hall meetings and that projects within the assembly were pasted on bill boards and positioned at vantage locations within the assembly.
Mr. Daniel Okity Boamah made this statement on the sidelines when executives of NBU Project engaged assembles members, chairmen and chairpersons of unit committees and some officials from Asokore Mampong municipal assembly in a day’s training program.
The training was held within the hub of NBU Project located at Asokore Mampong and was organised in collaboration with the assembly and SOS Children’s Village with support from the European Union.
According to Madam Esther Martey who is the Project Coordinator, the training sought to equip participants on the use of social accountability tools at their respective electoral areas.
The she indicated was a follow up to an initial training they organised for some officials of the assembly.
The recent training she emphasised empowered assembly members to be accountable to their electorates and to also monitor activities of the officials of assembly.
