Asantewaa detailed how her allege stolen watch story came about

Popular Ghanaian TikToker, Asantewaa, has discussed the impact of rumours on celebrities and how quickly false stories can spread.

She cited a recent allegation involving actress Emelia Brobbey, where rumours circulated that she had stolen a watch in the UK.

Highlighting the distress caused by such unfounded rumors, Asantewaa pointed out that these stories are often spread to damage reputations or gain attention.

During an interview on Emelia Brobbey’s show ‘Okukuseku’, Asantewaa shared her perspective on dealing with such unwarranted attention.

“I believe that if people get tired of the false accusations, insults, and rumors, they will eventually stop. For instance, there was a recent rumour circulating that you stole someone’s watch in the UK. Whether true or not, these stories tend to resurface even after they fade away. Sometimes, it’s not about me specifically; people just use my name to gain popularity or promote their products and services.”

In response, Emelia Brobbey acknowledged the persistence of that particular rumour, stating, “Just recently, another person came forward to talk about the same issue of me stealing a watch. It hasn’t even been two weeks.”

Asantewaa also emphasised that she only pays attention to such developments if there is an opportunity to profit from them.

“I generally don’t let rumours affect me unless there’s a chance to make money from it,” she added.
