Paris 2024: French Olympian proposes to boyfriend after race, Nigerians react

French Olympic athlete Alice Finot has caused a stir on social media after she proposed to her boyfriend after her race at the Paris Olympics.

The 33-year-old broke the European record in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase in Tuesday’s final and proceeded to propose to her lover who was cheering her on from the stands.

Despite missing out on a podium finish, the European Champion was not going to miss the golden opportunity to propose to her long-time Spanish partner.

She said:

“I told myself that if I ran under nine minutes, knowing that nine is my lucky number and that we’ve been together for nine years, then I would propose.”

Finot’s bold gesture has garnered reactions from Nigerians on social media.
