Top Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan has reiterated his dream of playing for Asante Kotoko before hanging his boots.

Gyan has a history of playing just one season in the Ghana Premier League. That was in 2003 when he represented Liberty Professionals and finished 3rd on the top scorer list.

Gyan, the record for most goals by an African at the FIFA world cup went on to play for clubs in Italy, France, England, Turkey, UAE and China.

Now approaching his 35th birthday, Gyan is close to drawing the curtains down on his career but admits there’s one more item on his career checklist.

Popularly dubbed the ‘BabyJet’, Asamoah Gyan has told TV3 Sports that he is a staunch supporter of the Porcupine Warriors and would cherish a playing stint with them before retiring.

“I’ve supported Kumasi Asante Kotoko since I was a kid, till now. I even said to myself that I had to play Kotoko, but I didn’t have the chance to play before traveling outside” he noted.

“I have said that I have to wear the red shirt before I call it a day. I want to finish my career at Kumasi Asante Kotoko”.

Despite holding on to a dream of playing for one of Ghana’s best clubs, Asamoah Gyan admits there is a possibility this might not happen eventually because of life’s dicey nature.

He said “there are so many people when they were kids, they will tell that I want to be a doctor, but they end up being a nurse, or a waitress, they end up being a hostess”.

“So its something I want to do, I want to end my career with Kotoko” he concluded.
