Dilapidated bridge at Amasaman fixed

Residents of Otuaplem and Kojo Ashong in the Amasaman Constituency can sigh as the bridge connecting their communities, once a cause for concern, has undergone significant repairs to address safety issues.

Earlier reports, including an article titled “Bridge Turns Death Trap in Amasaman Constituency”, highlighted the bridge’s deteriorating condition, loose railings and a damaged structure which posed a danger to pedestrians and commuters.

Thankfully, their concerns were heard and local authorities responded swiftly, initiating a repair project to ensure the bridge’s safety.

The project addressed the reported issues, with works undertaken to strengthen the bridge’s overall structure, ensuring its stability for continued use.

The damaged railings were also fixed or replaced, providing essential support for pedestrians crossing the bridge.

An authority explained that these repairs aim to create a safer passage for all who use the bridge.

Community members who rely on this bridge daily have expressed their gratitude for the work done on their structure.

It will be recalled that the initial article brought attention to the bridge’s condition, prompting action from local authorities.

This then led to a collaborative effort demonstrating a positive outcome for public safety in Amasaman.
