Ghanaian Peacekeeper Recovering After Missile Attack in Lebanon – UN

A Ghanaian peacekeeper serving with a United Nations mission in Lebanon is reportedly recovering after being injured during a missile attack on a UN base in the country.

The soldier, Lance Corporal Albert Abrefa Busia of the Ghana Armed Forces, sustained injuries when missiles struck a base operated by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred amid ongoing tensions in the region, which have seen periodic exchanges of fire.

According to the United Nations, the peacekeeper received medical attention after the attack and is currently recovering. Officials say his condition is stable and that he is responding well to treatment.

Reports indicate that the Ghanaian battalion headquarters was hit during the attack, causing damage to parts of the facility and leaving several personnel injured. Apart from the Ghanaian soldier, other peacekeepers stationed at the base were also affected, although the extent of their injuries was reported to be minor.
